Title:  Mechanical Engineer

This client is a rapidly growing semiconductor equipment manufacturer serving the semiconductor advanced packaging sector worldwide. Developing new tool capabilities to meet customer requirements is a challenging and exciting opportunity for an engineer with an interest in complex, interacting systems.

Overall Accountability

  • This person will be a member of the Advanced Engineering Group.
  • The candidate will be part of a focused team driving improvements to critical components to existing products. 
  • This team is charged with extrapolating the newest product design to the range of wafer sizes and types. 
  • This product requires a highly complex, multi-step manufacturing process that must be monitored for consistency and enhanced to improve quality, reduce cost and improve performance. 
  • This focused team will include manufacturing engineering, strategic sourcing and product management personnel. 
  • Travel to local area vendors will be required.
  • As part of the team, the individual will complete engineering tasks for parts, molds, and tooling from initial concept through successful manufacturing release. 
  • New designs will be required to meet emerging market changes and the candidate will be required to convert these customer requirements into new products.

Responsibility

  • Complex part design that requires mold, tooling and fixture designs
  • Application of customer requirements to new product designs
  • Generating Bills of Material
  • Product data release packages (ECO) supporting the design and manufacturing processes
  • Travel to local vendors for design activities, manufacturing process development and inspection methods, and support first article builds

Required Experience

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of capital equipment engineering experience
  • 7+ years of recent experience with SolidWorks, or comparable CAD package
  • Working knowledge of materials, tolerances, standards, and machine shop practices.
  • Experience with mold design and related manufacturing processes highly desirable.
