Sourcing Specialist

A dynamic and
growing venture-backed manufacturer of capital equipment is seeking
a versatile New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing Specialist with
a proven track record of successfully driving projects from concept
to delivery. Primary focus of this position will be managing all
aspects of Strategic Sourcing responsibilities within the
engineering NPI process. This position will require a strong focus
on customer service, flexibility, and willingness to perform
tactical purchasing functions.
Candidate must
have relevant experience working with technical teams, along with
the proven ability to work well with suppliers and internal team
members from multiple disciplines. Must have demonstrated ability
to work from engineering drawings and material specifications.
Knowledge of mechanical manufactured parts is highly preferred;
experience in semiconductor equipment technology is a plus.
Responsibilities

Establish a
purchasing process and workflow for engineering/development
activities
-
Purchase
components/sub-assemblies/turnkey outsourced content, and
establish agreements to meet prototype builds and engineering
sample demand; complete the invoice reconciliation process for
filled orders

Collaborate
with internal and external customers to establish processes for
monitoring new product development and NPI configuration release
-
Work with
product development teams to negotiate and resolve scheduling
conflicts, inventory levels, material shortages, delivery
requirements, cost improvements, quality improvements and other
material issues

Leverage
internal and external resources to drive Design for
Manufacturing and Design for Cost initiatives thru engineering
and product development teams

Work closely
with Engineering and Strategic Supply Chain to supply prototype
parts in support of engineering projects for new product
development and NPI configuration release.

Identify
cost savings opportunities and develop improved processes for
New Product Introductions to reduce unit build costs and to
reduce product development cycle time

Maintain
strong working knowledge of manufacturing techniques routinely
used in the development of new products; Implement processes to
monitor cost reduction initiatives thru the development cycle
Qualifications
-
Minimum
Bachelor's required (BS Engineering preferred)

6-10 years
of experience in purchasing and/or engineering

Manufacturing or product development experience preferred

Must have
good negotiation skills

Good verbal
and written communication skills

Experience
with MRP systems and/or other procurement and financial systems
required

Knowledge of
business and management principles involving planning, resource
allocation, and supply chain management is required

Advanced
experience with Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
etc.) required

Lean experience
preferred.
