FABRICATION SUPERVISOR

4:00PM - Midnight

REPORTS TO: Plant Production Manager.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the associated production, supervision and administrative functions of the fabrication department.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Work with plant manager, department supervision and production control to achieve efficiency and production goals of the press department.
Develop work assignments for direct and indirect labor personnel and frequently monitor pace, efficiency and quality, taking corrective actions as needed.
Directs work force in accordance with the union contract and enforces plant rules in accordance with Company policy.
Operates within department budget for expenses and compensation.
Executes all administrative requirements and paperwork with accuracy, competence and promptness.
Responsible for safety of all operations and personnel within the department, enforces all safety rules and works to eliminate safety hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College degree and technical schooling background (sufficient job experience may be substituted if deemed appropriate) with emphasis on manufacturing engineering, metal working, tooling or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years experience in metal fabrication, aluminum extrusion and/or tooling and design, coupled with supervisory experience.
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and proficiency in the use of basic measuring instruments.
Computer Literacy: to include PC based programs and mainframe inventory control systems.
Effective communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
