Title:  Mechanical Engineer

Location: Massachusetts

Duration: Direct Hire                

 Senior Mechanical Engineer will perform mechanical engineering design and analysis with a particular emphasis on ion beam line components. The individual will report directly to the Director of Beam line Development and will provide leadership for other team members. 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Manage engineering projects
• Engineer and design mechanical parts, assemblies and systems to specifications
• Assemble/test new designs, document results and present conclusions
• Fully document new designs and originate ECOs for manufacturing release
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to other engineers/designers

Requirements:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer working in the semiconductor equipment industry with a focus on ion beam line related equipment such as electrostatic and magnetic lens arrangements, beam profilers and Faraday cups
• Proficient with Pro/engineer CAD, PDM Link, Algor FEA or equivalent and MS Office; MathCAD and Arena Solutions experience a plus
• Experience engineering/designing high vacuum systems including designing chambers, sizing and selecting vacuum pumps, sizing piping systems and selecting gauges
• Experience engineering/designing to achieve high reliability, high throughput and process cleanliness
